**POSITION: Adjunct Faculty in Japanese Program** **DEPARTMENT:** Undergraduate Program **POSITION TYPE:** Part-time (one semester-based contract) **LOCATION:** Tokyo (Sangen-jaya station) **VISA REQUIREMENT:** Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. **PERIOD:** Fall semester 2025 and Spring semester 2026 with the possibility to continue in subsequent semesters **SALARY & BENEFITS:** In accordance with the pay-scale determined and used in the program. ### OVERVIEW OF TUJ AND JAPANESE MAJOR Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ) is a full-service branch campus of Temple University based in Philadelphia. Established in 1982, TUJ provides undergraduate and graduate education to a diverse international student body in English. TUJ is situated in one of the most dynamic cities globally and offers multiple majors, including a Japanese Language major. ### PROGRAM DETAILS The Japanese Language Program at TUJ aims at equipping students with language proficiency and cultural knowledge in a comprehensive four-year curriculum. ### ADJUNCT INSTRUCTORS TUJ is seeking adjunct instructors for the following courses: - JPNS 1001 Japanese Elements I (4 Credit Hours) - JPNS 1002 Japanese Elements II (4 Credit Hours) - JPNS 2701 Japanese Intermediate I (4 Credit Hours) - JPNS 2702 Japanese Intermediate II (4 Credit Hours) Courses will meet three times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday). Applicants should be ready to engage students from varied majors in an in-person teaching environment. Interested applicants are required to hold at least a master's degree in a relevant field and have native or near-native proficiency in Japanese and English. Basic instructional technology skills are necessary, and applicants must be eligible to work in Japan. The position offers an opportunity to teach one or two courses per semester for the fall 2025 and spring 2026 terms, with the possibility of extension.
